On unknown date post application, in approximately 2012, the canine passed away from unknown reasons. No necropsy was performed. The original reason for the call to Bayer was to discuss expiration date of the product and not to report the death of this animal. No further information is expected. This case is closed.

The information regarding the death of the dog was casually provided during an inquiry. The level of information is very low. Nevertheless death is inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological product profile and experience. Product has wide margin of safety. Oral LD50 in rat 642 mg/kg BW. 20-fold over dosage tolerated by dogs without showing any side effect. Even though some information is not available (health status, medical history, necropsy report and time to onset), considering known safety profile of the product and intent of the reporter as not to report the event but to discuss the expiry date of the product, overall, a product relation is considered as unlikely.
