Water samples were taken from a stream, a grass headland, and a puddle on the field where Echo was applied. On July 27 more dead fish and water samples were collected. Soil and foliage samples were also collected. Water samples showed sub-lethal to lethal doses of chlorothalonil were deposited. The field in question was planted in such a way to minimize run-off. Buffer zones around the field ranged from 41-56 meters. 2000 trees had also been planted, as well as ryegrass at the edges of his potato field.
