(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-42251327 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her cat was exposed to an insecticidal spray containing the active ingredient tetrachlorvinphos. The reporter applied the product to her 14-year-old, male cat 18 days prior to initial contact with the registrant. One day after the product was applied the cat was lethargic, vomiting and not eating. The reporter bathed her cat with regular human shampoo but symptoms persisted and at the time of the call the reporter indicated that her cat had been drinking water but was still vomiting and not eating very much. The reporter was advised that per package labeling the product should not be used on aged animals without first consulting with a veterinarian. At the time of the call veterinary care was recommended due to the animals persistent symptoms. On follow-up call, five days later, the reporter indicated that a veterinarian came to her home to care for the cat but the cat died at home two days after her initial call. No additional information is available.
