On 12/10/2014, a dog was witnessed ingesting what, at the time was reported to be a single block of Tom Cat All Weather Block Bait which had been purchased 3 years prior. At that point, the dog was undergoing decontamination by a veterinarian. On 12/11/2014, the dog owner called back to report that the dog in the clinic today as a result of bromethalin intoxication. The dog had received one dose of activated charcoal every 8 hours and appeared stable for discharge at 3pm. By 5 pm that same day, the dog was shaking and died in clinic. The pet owner refused to provide additional information about why she thought bromethalin was involved when a non-bromethalin product was first reported.
