(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-38137690 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her two cats were exposed to a spot-on insecticide containing the active ingredient methoprene. The reporter applied the product to her 1-year-old, 4 pound, female cat (Subform III #1) and to her 2.5-year-old, 6 pound male cat (Subform III #2) one hour prior to initial contact with the registrant. The reporters female cat licked the back of her neck less than 30 minutes prior to the call and started foaming at the mouth. The male cat was also foaming at the mouth but by the time of the initial call the foaming had already resolved. The reporter was advised that the product has little to no toxicity in mammals but with ingestion drooling can occur because of the unpleasant taste. No further information is available.
