1-38049946 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her cat was exposed to an insecticidal spot-on product containing the active ingredient methoprene. The reporter indicated that she applied the product to her 1-year-old, male cat two days prior to initial contact with the registrant. The day after the product was applied the cat was not moving and it was hiding. On the day of initial contact the cat wouldnt eat or drink, it was coughing and vomiting, it seemed to be in pain and then it died. The reporter was advised that the product has a wide margin of safety and the described symptoms are not consistent with exposure to the product. A necropsy was recommended to help determine an underlying cause for the cats symptoms. No further information is available.
