1-34903416 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her cat was exposed to an insecticidal spray containing the active ingredients tetrachlorvinphos and methoprene. The reporter had applied the product multiple times on both of her cats over the past month. One cat remained asymptomatic but the reporters 7-year-old, 9 pound, male domestic shorthair had been vomiting for the past month and for the past three weeks had suffered from intermittent loss of balance. Three days prior to initial contact with the registrant the reporter found her male domestic shorthair dead. The reporter had brought this cat to her veterinarian three months prior to initial contact with the and at that time the veterinarian had indicated that fur loss near the base of the tail was likely secondary to a heavy flea burden. The reporter was advised that there were numerous possible causes for the described symptoms and without ante-mortem work-up or post mortem necropsy the cause of the cats death could not be determined. No further information is available.
