7. Describe symptoms and outcome (died, recovered, etc.).

Tree injury symptoms were consistent with aminopyralid effects. Symptoms included leaf curling, premature flowering, dead bark, root death, dead buds. The affected trees represented an area covering ~15% of the total area treated with Milestone. Approximately 60% of the trees located in the treated area were affected. Less than 10% of the trees affected were killed or severely affected. The remaining 90% of the trees will likely recover over time.

It was noted that the custom applicator was missing spray records for about half of the affected area, so it was not known for certain if Milestone was applied in this area. It is possible that a 3-way product such as Par III (2,4-D / mecoprop / dicamba) could have been sprayed on this area, as the customer applicator was using that product during the same time frame. The City of (name) may be taking soil samples in this area to test for aminopyralid residues.
