1-19919044: A reporter (cat owner) called on 09/11/2009 to report the exposure of her 2 kittens to a flea and tick powder containing the active ingredient Tetrachlorvinphos. According to the reporter, the product was applied to the kittens on 09/10/2009. Within 4 hours, Cat #1 (1st Subform III) developed vomiting, lethargy, and tremors. The reporter bathed both kittens. Cat #1 died at an unknown time. Cat #2 (2nd Subform III) developed vomiting, lethargy, and tremors on 09/11/2009. The reporter was advised that the product is not expected to result in the signs described with labeled use. A recommendation was made to have Cat#2 evaluated by a veterinarian. The company's cholinesterase testing and reimbursement policy was also discussed. An attempt at follow up was unsuccessful, and no further information was obtained. NOTE: This product is not labeled for use on cats younger than 12 weeks of age.
