1-18458349: A reporter (cat owner) called on 05/14/2009 to report the exposure of her 2 cats to a flea and tick spray containing the active ingredients Tetrachlorvinphos and Methoprene. According to the reporter, the product was applied to both cats on 05/13/2009. She came home from work on the day of the report to find Cat #1 (1st Subform III) dead and Cat #2 (2nd Subform III) lethargic, unresponsive, and ataxic. Cat #2 had been bathed prior to the report. The reporter was advised that the product is not expected to result in significant signs. The reporter was encouraged to take Cat #2 to the veterinarian to determine the cause and appropriate treatment for the signs described. The reporter was also advised to consider necropsy on Cat #1 to determine the cause of death. The reporter declined both necropsy for Cat #1 and veterinary evaluation for Cat #2.
